Memorial Day at the Lake
Besides the fact that we really noticed Mollie starting to act her age this weekend (2 1/2, almost 3... enough said), we had some great moments at the lake, most involving fun in the water! We hit the beach, had the first tubing run of the season with Nana and did boat and jet ski rides with Papa.
Here are the girls going to "rescue" Papa who was floating away.
A great moment of chaos when all the kids decided they wanted to climb on top of Papa in the raft.A brief moment of calm... probably the only moment of calm!

Ballet Recital 2011
YAY! Recital time. Mollie, who spends hours every day being a princess ballerina, fairy ballerina or just a ballerina, was finally going to get her chance to dance on stage like Angelina Ballerina. She was so excited to wear her costume and perform her two numbers to "splish splash elmo" and the "YMCA". Unfortunately, her biggest fans (me and dad) were going to be out of town for the big recital, but luckily we were able to catch the rehearsal, which from video footage, looks to have produced very similar results to the big day.
Here she is gearing up for rehearsal at home.
And practicing her moves on stage..

Mollie was lucky enough to have a great support crowd in the audience for the big performance. The other Hanratty family ballerina, Madeline, was there to walk her in and cheer her on, as well as Aunt Kelly and Nana. Here are some pics from the recital.
The summary of the event, which will be posted on video footage, was perfect... one girl showing her sassy moves, one boy dressed as elmo, one girl screaming and 15 girls rotating between doing a couple of moves and stopping to look around, assess the situation, and stand still for a bit (Mollie was one of these). Classic first recital. Can't wait for many more!!!

30 Weeks!
I can finally say, the countdown is feeling close. YAY! We just returned home from our last trip until after the babe is born. We were celebrating a friend's wedding in Hershey, PA, eating chocolate and dressing up the baby bump. Here is Baby Dos, the 3 lb. butternut squash, at 30 weeks...
Mollie spent the weekend with Nana and loved all the perks that came with it!! She cruised around nana's grocery store with her own cart (how cool), had a sleepover with her cousin Madeline, went out for ice cream, got some cool new books, and most importantly had her first official ballet recital with Nana, Aunt Kelly and Madeline in the audience (pics and video to come on the recital).
Nana, thanks for everything from the photo updates to the fun activities to the recital prep!!!

We couldn't leave this one out!
The dancing at the lake wasn't just for the girls... it was also for the Papa's and the wolves :) If we had only had a video camera handy!

Fish, sleepovers and dancing
This weekend at the lake was filled with firsts. The most notable with Mollie and Madeline's first slumber party. They got the whole downstairs to themselves and it only took three interventions from parents to get them to go to sleep.
1. They had switched beds
2. They were both out of bed building a pillow fort
3. Final warning, Madeline was laying with the covers over her head and Mollie was squatting over her trying to "find Madeline".
Three minutes later they were fast asleep. We feel the fact that they went to sleep at all made it a big success!
The other big first was catching a fish off the dock. The pics below make it look like the girls waited patiently looking after their bobbers until they giant fish was caught. One of them did, one of them didn't. You can guess. The good news is Dad picked up the abandoned fishing rod and caught a pretty good size fish. The kiddos loved it!
Not a first, but the dancing was spectacular. Had to include some of those pics!
Happy Birthday Aunt Kelly!

School's out for summer
Somehow school is already out and summer is here. Mollie gave her teacher, Miss Hilary, a giant goodbye squeeze at the end of year party today. We feel so blessed to have had such a wonderful year at Co-op. It was so much fun for Mom to see what it's really like in a classroom filled with two year olds and meet all of Mollie's classmates. Luckily Miss Hilary sent us home with highlights of all of the art projects and lessons they did this year.
Cheers to summer!
