All the "Lasts" of this school year

Oh wow, last lunch duty, last recess, last kindergarten guest reader, last day to see my kindergartener and third grader in uniforms.  Trying to hold back the tears, but having a very hard time!

This year was just special.  Don't know why.  Maybe because you were both so so happy.  Maybe it was because you were both at the same school or you both wanted to be at school.  You both had amazing teachers and learned SO much.  

But this year happened in a blink.  Don't know why either.  Maybe because it was the first time with both girls in full day school. But for the first time in history, I"m not ready for it to end.  Not because I don't want you home with me, but because time is just going to fast.  I'm not ready to say goodbye to kinder for ever and I'm not ready for my first born to be double-digits...10!

I guess I have to live by the thing I've always told myself, it just keeps getting more fun.  I can't wait to spend the summer with my bring and shiny first grader to be and my smart as a whip hilarious pre- teen.  I can't wait to see what you'll teach me, what we'll laugh about and how we'll spend our days together!  As much as I'm sad to say goodbye to this magical year, I'm so excited to spend every day with my girls.

You have given me a gift such as I never even dreamt of finding in this life.

My heart is overflowing. 

I am proud.

I am emotional.

I am feeling all the feels.

You read in mass this morning and it was perfect!

You were so excited and so proud.

You were so big and so brave and so confident.

I cannot believe our baby is almost finished with her first year at St. Rita, with her first year of kinder.

You have grown up so much and every little reminder of that is bringing tears to my eyes.

Thank goodness there is still a little baby left.

Thank goodness still that sweet voice and that sweet laugh and those sweet cuddles.

And thank goodness you are growing into the most amazing young girl.

I cannot wait to have you all to myself when summer starts in two weeks, but every day until then, I'll have tears in my eyes about this sweet kinder year coming to a close.

Slime Factory

Yes, our house has turned into a slime factory.

This girl just got her first pair of cowboy boots from her dad, and put them into immediate action with a trail ride in the Trinity Forest on Shelby.  And she absolutely loved it! Love your sense of adventure!

Kindergarten Mother/Daughter Tea

Today was our first of many Mother/Daughter Tea Parties.  

We were lucky enough to be the hosts, so got to kick off the party with your reading a prayer, and then had a surprise visit with Alice from Wonderland.  The party was a perfect mix of fancy and fun, but I think the FUN part was the hit, as we could barely pull you out of the crazy photo booth!

I had so much fun having fun KK/Mom time with my babe.  I look forward of many more of these to come, but will always remember watching you sip our of your tea cup with your fancy pinky in the air at our very first one.  Love you big girl!
