Curb Appeal

We went all out on outdoor lights this year. When we found out it would cost a cool $1k to hire the pros, we decided to tackle it ourselves. Ryan on the roof, Kate on the ground. Only 1/3 of the lights are out already (and one section is randomly flashing... we don't get that), but the rest somehow found their way out of the knots and onto the house. And frosty distracts from the errors.

We've caught the Christmas Spirit

Mollie was very helpful this year. Her favorite part was picking out ornaments. There were so many fun surprises in the box. She even correctly identified the Christmas poo ornament (thanks Gordon!)
And we were right... the star is not making it to the top this year, even with the assistance of BBQ tongs.
Enjoying the view!

The Grizwolds

Someday Mollie will say, "Mom and Dad, can we just get our tree at Home Depot like normal families?", but she hasn't said that yet, so we kept up the family tradition and dragged the family out to the Christmas tree farm in East Texas to cut down our own tree in the hot Texas sun. Mollie shed enough tears to basically say the quote above without actually having to say it, but we left with the best Walls Family Christmas tree we've had to date!

Hayride to the trees -

This tree...

And the winner is -
Ryan guessed 9 feet and I guessed 8.5. It clocked in at 11 feet. Whoa, good luck getting the star on the top of this one!

Fighting off the holiday lbs!

What we are thankful for

FAMILY!
and a chance to meet Frosty the Snowman!

We truly have so much to be grateful for and the second annual Hanratty Open highlighted just that. Quality time and laughs with our family, adorable chaos with happy little ones running around, wayyyyy too much food and some healthy competition. Amen.
We are so grateful for you little turkey!

THANKSGIVING!

We have found that there is no better way to kick off this holiday than joining a large part of the Dallas population in enjoying a breath of fresh air, some exercise (well, we kind of skipped that part this year, but we jogged to and from our car) and tons of kiddo activities. It is one of our city's most festive activities and even at 30 degrees, we loved it...

the horseback riding
the petting zoo
the puppet show
the facepainting
and the balloon artist
Can't wait for Part II of the day!

The Holidays Have Begun

And what better to kick them off than a ride on a longhorn reindeer?!
I CANNOT wait for the holiday season with a two year old!

Sweet Daddy Time

She's been favoring Mommy a bit lately, so some cuddles with Dad were very welcomed by all.

Family Sunday

Hard to beat a fall day at the arboretum, at least that's what Mollie thought! We had a perfect Sunday kicked off with a picnic with friends...

...then capped off the day with the "campfire club" (yes, that's the cheesy name that our friend Matt came up with for hanging out in the back yard with our fire going), grilling sausages, and the perfect ending... s'mores!

Family Night

Daddy got the fire pit going and fired up the grill. I tried to get some video, because there was no shortage of laughing and "I run in circles" until we were all laying on the ground. It would have made for a perfect home video. Unfortunately, it was too dark, so here are some stills that captured some of the fun in the dark with a flash.

The Potty Princess

YES, that's right. That is not a diaper Mollie is flashing. It is a flashy pair of fairy undies! We geared up with a sticker chart and some treats and did some potty training Wednesday. As of Thursday evening, we were accident free. I'm sure there will be many laughable accidents in our future, but as of today, we are so proud of our big girl and her success with fairy undies and her froggy potty!

Every day I feel like we have big steps in the big girl direction, but this really is a huge milestone Mollie!
