"I will be soooo sad"

says Mollie as I explain that her best bud is moving far away.

I cry as I write that it is a sad day for the Hanrattys as we are losing some of our best friends to Los Angeles. Mollie and Aidan have grown up since babies when we met walking our week old babies.
They are three days apart, little besties in the making. It is heartwarming to watch them interact, say "please" and "thank you", "i'm sorry" and "it's ok", play dress up, chase each other around a room, belly laugh and give the longest hugs you've ever seen. They play together better than anyone and love each other so much. We will sincerely miss them as Mollie wakes up and asks for him to come over after almost every nap.

Here is their tear jerking goodbuy hug!

We will miss you friends!

Best Quote, Best Video

"I am your best girl, and you love me soooooo much"

Well, she is right on! Glad she knows it. My sweet Mollie warms my heart... and makes me laugh...

Not only my best girl, but the best dancer!!!

Happy Father's Day

to the best Daddy a little girl could ever ask for! Thank you for all the laughing, reading, tickling, swimming... for building forts, for being Donald Duck, for all of the adventures! Mollie is so lucky to have a fun, giving, caring, loving Dad!
We had a wonderful day of celebrating Dad with donuts, gifts, swimming and homemade lasagna.

Here is Mollie divvying out the donuts.
"You wouldn't"

"You did!"
"Your turn"

A big kiss for Daddy!
We finished the day by a joint attempt (Mom and Mollie) at making Nana's famous lasagna for Dad. It turns out the third time is a charm (or maybe Mollie is the charm) and it tasted fantastic.
Cheers to you and all you do for us Daddy. As Mollie said in the morning "Happy Father's Day Daddy, thanks for being the greatest Daddy!"

Pool Day at Nanas

The silly goose was all geared up for swimming with Nana, Papa and her cousins, but wouldn't stand still for me to capture her in Madeline's old ballerina swimsuit. It became a game. Hide-and-seek...
It appears the combo of completing dolphin swim school and her new Dora goggles gave her all the confidence in the world. The #1 safety rule for our fearless warrior has rapidly changed from "Never swim alone" to "Tell someone when you're jumping in"!!

HERE I COME....

Gearing up for Polly

We did some preparation and practicing for Polly's arrival (Mollie insists that the baby is a girl and that her name will be Polly). We pulled out all of the swings and bouncers out of storage and Mollie practiced putting her baby dolls in them and strapping them in for safety. She also strapped in the wolf :) Some miscommunication... we later realized that Mollie might have thought that these were all gifts to her dollies, not actual items that will belong to Polly.

Beating the heat

Notice the trend of swimming pics. It's June in Dallas, if you're going to be outside, you have to be in the water!

The Dolphin

Our little dolphin completed her crash course on toddler swimming today and they had a performance day for parents to close out the session. This two weeks was Mollie's first activity where I dropped her off in the carpool line and picked her up 45 minutes later. It was such a neat experience for Dad and me to show up the last day and see all of the skills she had learned throughout the course without us there, and she enjoyed showing off for us!
We also developed great appreciation for the teachers while watching them trying to wrangle our crazy two year old who didn't always feel like listening to directions (even though the other five kids were). Mollie did a great job in class but also seemed to enjoy being the class clown and find a way to keep moving and shaking even when the directions were to sit still. I guess on the bright side, we will never say she lacked enthusiasm... or a huge, bright smile!

Showing off her prize, a rock she had to dive for at the end of class.
Hugging her swimming buddy Cate after class was complete.
