Fishing Lessons

Last year Grandpa stocked the pond with Bluegill, and this year he had a surprise waiting for the girls upon their arrival... fishing poles!  He had a casting lesson in the field, then they headed for the pond.

Although the girls wanted nothing to do with baiting the nightcrawlers on their hooks, they couldn't wait to cast into the pond to catch some fish.  KK went first, and the bobber bobbed up and down about 45 second after it hit the water.  Mollie helped her catch it with the net, and their collection had begun.  Mollie was next with similar results.  If you want to get someone excited about fishing, this is the way to do it.  Once Kendall caught a fish before her bobber even hit the water :). After our first fishing session they had 12 fish and huge smiles!

This is about as close as they would get to the little guys!

Thanks Grandpa!

My heart is so happy that this is one of your favorite places to be.  The minute we land in Madison, they ask to go to the land.  What a gift for them to have space and time and freedom!
